Begonia semperflorens F1 Royal, Monza

Begonia semperflorens is an ideal bedding plant, suitable for nearly all climate conditions. Tolerant to high temperatures, windy and rainy conditions.

Royal is available in 5 different colours: Bicolour, Rose, Salmon Orange, Scarlet, and White.

Sowing Media:Lightly fertilized peat, pH 5,5-5,8.

Sowing: Sow 1 or 2 seeds per cell in trays, i.e. 350 - plug trays.
Do not cover the seeds as Begonia semperflorens needs light to germinate.
If sowing pelleted seeds they may be covered slightly with a thin layer of Vermiculite in order to maintain high humidity.

Daylength required is 12 hours. If less daylength is available use artificial light, 5000 lux.

Germination temperature:22-24¡ãC (72-75¡ãF).

Time to germinate:8- 10 days. Do not allow the seedlings to dry out.

Potting:In packs or 8-10 cm pots (3-4").

Growing temperature:18-20¡ãC (64-68¡ãF). Temperature below 16¡ãC (61¡ãF) will delay flowering.

Fertilizer:Fertilize 2-3 times per week. Change between a calcium-based fertilizer (13-2-13) and an ammonium-based fertilizer (20-5-30).

Tall, stretched plants with few flowers indicate wrong level of phosphorous.

Growth regulator:If necessary 0,05-0,1% Cycocel 2 weeks after transplanting.

Sales period:9-10 weeks from sowing.
